Our overarching objective is to be part of a thriving community on Bute. We believe that through partnerships and collaboration with others, we have the best chance of maintaining our community in the long term.
We work with various individuals and businesses across the Island to support enterprise, events, learning and good fun!
This long-distance waymarked path – the first on a Scottish island – encompasses some of the finest walking on the Isle of Bute. The West Island Way crosses various landscapes, including the seashore, moorland, farmland, and forest, providing a continually changing picture of Bute.
Bute Yard is a contemporary multi-use events hub showcasing the best local artisan and craft food and drink on Bute. Bute Yard was developed by the Bute family, with MST leasing the land.
Trials of Bute is a four-day sheepdog trial taking place on the Island. It was founded by a group of friends (and MST tenants) who all have a keen interest in farming and working sheepdogs. The trials welcome visitors from across Europe. Mount Stuart Trust has sponsored the event since its inception and looks forward to supporting the event going forward.
A non-stop weekend of live music, family, friends and fun at Ettrick Bay on the magical Isle of Bute. The event is held in some beautiful fields overlooking the beach owned by MST.
