Shepherding is the most ancient occupation, a harmonious exchange between human, animal, and environment to create a sustainable livelihood within rural settings. ‘FOLD’ is a large-scale text work collaboration between artist Maya Rose Edwards, and 4 rare and remarkable Shepherdesses (Emma, Cathinka, Karen and Lisa) who inhabit 4 farms on the Isle of Bute with their flocks and families. Captured by local drone operator Paul Simpson, conceptualised and edited by Maya Rose Edwards as a part of the TWOFOLD project exploring Queer/Rural identities.
