Sawmill

Supporting the circular economy with timber grown, sawn, treated and used on Bute

Our Sawmill is situated just outside the policies of Mount Stuart House and produces sawn timber, firewood and woodchip to add value to the forestry harvest andsupport the island economy. All softwood and hardwood are sourced primarily from our woodland on the Isle of Bute.

Whether we are keeping you warm through wood chip pellets for biomass heating systems or firewood and kindling, we like to see as much timber as possible remain on the Island of Bute for use by our surrounding community and businesses, supporting our circular economy and adding value to locally sourced timber.

Our sawmill employs the following people: a manager, a sawyer, a trainee sawyer, a delivery driver and a yard hand.

Our pre-prepared products include:

- Treated Boards

- Soft and Hardwood Firewood

- Fencing Posts

- Sawdust

- Woodchip for biomass

We are always delighted to speak to you directly about your requirements. We are happy to look at bespoke orders for building projects and construction or decorative pieces such as fire surrounds, mantlepieces and decorative table tops.
